Nudgekin: Focus Pal ("Nudgekin") is a wellness app: a pet pal who helps you focus and feel better. It is built so that your data stays on your phone. There is no account, no Nudgekin server, no advertising and no analytics.

What stays on your phone

Your pal, check-ins, moods, notes, focus sessions, tasks, journal entries, the people you add to "Get help", your treats, room and settings are stored only on your device. We never see them. Deleting the app, or Settings > Delete all my data, removes them.

What can leave your phone

Purchases. If you buy Nudgekin Plus or treats, the purchase is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We use RevenueCat to check whether your purchase is active. RevenueCat receives a random identifier made for this app, your purchase details, and your device's region and app version. It does not receive your name, email or any of your Nudgekin data. Weather and daylight (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, Nudgekin uses your approximate location, rounded to about 1 km, to work out sunrise and sunset on your phone, and asks the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET Norway, api.met.no) for the local weather, at most every 30 minutes. Only the rounded coordinates are sent. You can turn it off any time in Settings > Appearance.

Health data

If you turn on Mindful minutes, Nudgekin writes your breathing sessions to Apple Health or Health Connect on your phone. It never reads your health data, and nothing is sent anywhere.

Blocking apps during focus

If you use Block apps, the apps you choose are handled by Apple's Screen Time or Android's Accessibility service on your phone. Nudgekin only sees which app is opened, never what's on your screen, and none of it leaves your phone.

Notifications, widgets and contacts

Notifications are scheduled on your phone. Widgets read data that stays on your phone. When you add someone to "Get help", you pick them from your contacts; only the name and number you pick are saved, on your phone.

Children

Nudgekin does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Not medical care

Nudgekin is a wellness app, not therapy, diagnosis or medical care. If you are struggling, "Get help" in the app lists helplines, and findahelpline.com can find one near you.
